April 2008
As many of you know we have been working hard at getting our website The Thomas Ranch to be the best that it can be.

Many of you may notice that we have added the Alexa Widget to the bottom of our pages. This is to help us track our Website Ranking among all other Websites out there in the world. When we first started tracking this it our Ranking was 10,335,037. That means out of popularity we were ranked that number. The number 1 Website is Ranked 1, and so on. As of this month we are Ranked 3,660,857, and in the last couple months we were Ranked at 6,864,275. We are going to do a push to get under 1,000,000 by the end of this month, and with the site stats the way that they are we shouldn’t have an issue with that. Our ultimate goal is to get within the top 100,000 websites in the world. As many of you may already know there are billions of Websites on the Internet. Being number 3,660,857 is an honor and we know that you will also help us to achieve our goal of being in the top 100,000.

The Anderson Family was able to move back into there home this month. If you can recall in October 2007 Monthly Cowboy News we told you about there house fire. While Russell is deployed to Afghanistan with the Desert Cowboys, Casey has picked up all the pieces and had to deal with 100% of the house and Insurance business. We feel as if she has done an excellent job in picking out all new furniture and carpet and color coordinating everything in the house. Great Job Casey, we are all proud of you!

Local happening around The Thomas Ranch that we are supporting are:

Juni Fisher will be performing live at the National Day of the Cowboy Headquarters in Wilcox, Arizona Monday, April 21, 2009, seating will be limited to 50 people. Call Bethany at 520-766-6362 to reserve your tickets in advance, or stop by the National Day of the Cowboy Headquarters, 162 N Railroad Avenue, Wilcox, Arizona 85643 to reserve or purchase tickets.

For those of you who have been following our pages viewed and visitors to our site, for the month of March here are the numbers:

Can you believe these numbers just keep climbing? Each and every one of you who are reading these pages is to thank for that.

Thanks to each and everyone of you who support us and that stop by our Country Western Cowboy Store and thanks to each of you who read each of our pages in our Reading Room.

Until next month America thanks for stopping bye and Keep your Boots in the Stirrups.

March 2008:

The Twins Birthdays are this month. So we want to stop and take the time out and wish them both a very Happy Birthday. With this being said I cannot believe that we now have 17-year-old twins in the house. For all of you who have teenagers you know that one moment they are all little kids playing outside and the next minute they are talking about College or Trade School and also talking about moving out on there own. Where did the time go? Why can’t they just stay little kids?

As most of you who have been on this site knows that we love fishing, but now with teenagers they find that the opposite sex is more important than fishing with there father. Go figure, not like I did that when I was younger, lol. Well OK, lets confess I too had a drought in my fishing adventure when I hit my teenage years as well. But I can’t wait until the time comes when they have there own kids and then they can travel thru the life cycle. I really don’t want them to stay kids forever. I know that each one of them will grow up and become valuable members of the society. As parents we have raised them to the best of our abilities and we have given them what they need to go forward and succeed in life, lets just hope that when we look at them again in another 10 years that each of them are well on the path of success.

Well I think I’m done rambling about how fast our kids grow up, because I just remembered I couldn’t wait to grow up and they probably can’t either. So I will not slow down the hands of time.

Just a quick note: For those of you who are following our numbers each month.
22,324, pages viewed and 15,650 for the month of February, Thanks again America, for helping us rise above what we thought might be our plateau. We are looking forward to the numbers for next month.

Until next time America, “Keep your Boots in the Stirrups”

February 2008:

As we all know February is a month of Love. This is where we all show our Loved Ones how much we truly care for them. Cowboys are no different that any normal Joe out on the street. For Valentines Day we buy flowers and candy and several other things for them, but sometimes we have to add a little twist to it.

As you know we published our new website layout and design at the end of October, right after the Anderson’s house fire in Oklahoma. With this new layout and with the increase in pages and much better page content we wanted to share with you what has happened with our web site.

October 2007: We had 9,031 Visitors and 8,633 pages viewed. (We had more visitors than pages viewed this month)
November 2007: We had 10,347 Visitors and 13,174 pages viewed.
December 2007: We had 10,513 Visitors and 16,659 pages viewed.
January 2008: We had 15,194 Visitors and 21,954 pages viewed.

As you can tell our site is being visited more and more pages are being viewed each month and continues to grow each month. We wish more people would take there time and tell us what they like or dislike about our site and what they believe we can do to help out our Internet Surfers. We expect February to grow even more as long as we can keep our website up-to-date and keep adding additional material to our site. We have spent several long months rebuilding this site from the ground up. It took about 6 months of work to put it all together. But, the most important thing we believe is each and every one of you who surf thru our pages. We would like to thank you.

Well America until next month keep smiling and keep your boots in the stirrups.

January 2008:

What a way to start off the New Years with over 16,000 pages viewed on The Thomas Ranch Web site.

We want to thank each and every one of you who grace our pages each and every month!
With our new-and-improved Web site and Navigational system it has made it smoother for surfers just like you to navigate thru our site and the statistics show this.

We are writing this on the 14th of January and with the current statistics it looks as if we are going to be breaking another record here in January.

This month we have included Google’s AdSence to our Web site and hope that this doesn’t detour our visitors from our web pages, but yet improves our content with related links that we feel may be beneficial to each of you.

Back home on the Range, we are now back up to four ”Horses”. We have not tried to replace any horses since “Buck” passed away. But it is a great feeling to know that the Ranch continues on and that the sole means of transportation for the Cowboy back in the 1880’s continues as a tradition on our Ranch. We have also decided to dedicate a page or three towards the Horse. Look for these in the next couple of months.

If I don’t include a little tidbit about which we joined forces with this month I usually get swamped with several e-mails asking for the information.

So before this happens, we actually joined forces with several pay-per-click search-engines. This is not our typical thing to do, but they have vowed to give 100% of the first year’s revenue to The Thomas Ranch and the Desert Cowboys, in a 50/50 split. Well as you know the Desert Cowboys are our weak spot and we have included them in here with our family. So if you don’t mind following some of our links and clicking around their websites we could possibly create some revenue. Here is a list of some of the pay-per-click websites.

Beef Rancher
Beef Ranchers
Dixie Publishing
Sleeping Cow which they tell me is up for sale.
Who’s Browsing
Two Bit Ranch
Run The Listings

So if you don’t mind hoping over to those sites and surfing around for a while we would appreciate it.

With all this said and done Russell is headed back off for another deployment and taking his Desert Cowboys with him. This time it is to Afghanistan and for 15 months. God-Speed to him and all his Desert Cowboys. Keep up with them on there own website www.DesertCowboys.com.
