DECEMBER 2005: It's that time of year again. Santa Claus is packing up his sleigh and checking his list one last time. The Thomas Ranch would like to stop and tell everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Yes we are still saying Merry Christmas. Seasons Greetings sounds well but we do not want to lose what this holiday is about. Christ. So Merry Christmas is the key to the holiday. We wanted to stop and tell everyone that the holiday is still alive just as he is still alive. We do not want to make this a sermon but we do want you all to know that we are praying for everyone at this time of year.
The Desert Cowboys are leaving this month and are heading over to Iraq so we are also wanting all of them to know that we are thinking of them as well. Please be careful over there and return safely. May God speed your journey!
Here at The Thomas Ranch we have been busy and have been helping spread the word about the Desert Cowboys, National Day of the Cowboy, and Cowboy Crew. Helping keep the Cowboy tradition alive is a big part of what we are doing here at The Thomas Ranch to insure that we will be alive for our 200th Anniversary. Please help these worthy causes and 'Promote and Protect our Heritage'.
The Thomas Ranch created a Cowboy Christmas page which was created to help people to understand what it is.

November 2005: November is a month of preparation and celebration. Casey's Birthday is this month and we want to wish her a Happy Birthday.
Once again we have joined forces with the Cowboy Crew to help promote an Animal Rescue for New Orleans animals and Ranchers.
A National Day of the Cowboy Flag page was created to talk about uniting the Cowboy under a unified symbol. We believe that this is for the best, a flag that will represent the Cowboy in the future. Take a moment to read about the flag and what we think.
Knead A Cookie has came up with an ingénues way to do fundraising. Purchase their cookies and sell them with your themes. We ordered the Western Collection and they went over like hot cakes. Try them at your next get together.
The Last Cowboy twenty-three years in the making, Jon Alpert's THE LAST COWBOY follows Vern Sager, a real American cowboy, through his hardscrabble life in one of the most isolated places in America. Out on the range with temperatures so extreme a herd can freeze overnight, Vern faces an army of adversaries: cattle rustlers, international agribusiness, old age, the weather and the wanderlust of his own family. Why do you ask do we include them? Because we were mentioned all over there website. I do not know if we are actually in the movie or mentioned in it we have to wait for our copy of it to come in. But, anything that is Cowboy we love to promote. Good Job to Jon Alpert!!
Cowboy Jokes and General Jokes this page was created to make you think and to make you laugh. If you know of a joke that is clean and should be added email us and we will put it on. We hope you enjoy it.
This month is Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to dinner with the family and a holiday for thanks. What more can a single person ask for? When you are married to the person you love and are raising a family, looking at your kids and your parents sitting around the table, it makes you stop and think about what life has in store for everyone. What lay ahead of each one of us? I just hope that we have instilled enough common knowledge in each one of them that they grow up and become respectable young men and woman. The Cowboy Way, the Country Way, Cowboy Up kids because life is full of surprises and we are looking forward to what each one of you have to show us.
You already make us proud.
With all our love MOM and DAD!!

October 2005: October is here and it is the month that we are to start preparing for fall to come in. But, at this time we look at the disasters that have hit America and are just awestruck at how resilient we as Americans are. I would like to point out this months News are JUST MY OPINION.
Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia were first hit with Hurricane Katrina. A warning was posted and most people left. The puzzle here is why do some people not heed the warnings that are given to them? Picture after picture you see people still there and they claim they had no money to get out. I do not feel as if this is the case. A lot of people think that the government makes things out worse than they are, others want to stay behind and loot things and others just want to experience the thrill of the storm. Any way you look at it once someone has been warned and they decide to stay behind they almost get what they deserve. I say almost because some people who were unable to leave (those in the hospital or confined to there house) had no choice but to ride it out. But, those middle aged and younger couples you see wading thru up to there hips in water you can almost feel nothing for them. Some lost everything, you have to feel sad about that, but not for staying out the storm.
Hurricane Rita was a different story maybe because we just watched Katrina rip thru Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia or maybe it was due to the fact that everyone left before the storm hit. People returned a lot faster to Texas, than they did Louisiana. Texas is also known for all of its citizens caring guns. Signs talking about looting and shooting were all over Texas. Not wanting to even take a chance most people left the areas alone.
Pictures on the Internet show both the positive and negative on both of these Hurricanes. We do want to pass on our condolences to Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas and hope that America will stop and take the time to think; is this worth my life. Defending our family any one of us will lay down our life against anyone. But, a life-threatening storm that we can drive away from and all is safe is a foolish mistake if we don't choose to leave. We can and have rebuilt and believe we can do it for the next 100 years. As long as we have our family there is nothing we can't face.
September 26 at the Department of Energy after receiving a briefing on Hurricane Rita's impact on U.S. energy infrastructure, President Bush said the storm had affected the ability of suppliers to get gasoline to markets. Gas prices are a whole 'nother subject we don't have space or time for.

September 2005: September is here already. The Thomas Ranch created two new Cowboy Buzzwords and Cowboy Western Recipes pages.
The Thomas Ranch decided that it took us over 4 years to figure out the whole Buzzword theme so we would share our knowledge with you. We hope that you will find this page of interest and can use it. The Thomas Ranch also decided that we would share some recipes with you. If you would like your recipes shared then send us an e-mail at recipes@thethomasranch.com
The Thomas Ranch had a terrible disaster hit the ranch. The house that Al Thomas (the current owner of The Thomas Ranch) grew up and was raised in caught fire. It was burned down to nothing. At this time all of us here at The Thomas Ranch just want to take a moment of silence and feel his sorrow. We hope that you too can feel his pain. We also want to say we are so sorry for this event to have ever happened. If you are new to The Thomas Ranch you will know that we like to keep things almost the way it was when it was first founded in 1902. This house was not being used to live in. It was still standing as a reminder of our forefathers.
The Thomas Ranch joined forces with CowboyCrew.Com CCC who is trying to promote the western community to come together as a whole and support country pride. Their slogan is "Welcome to the Country Club!" Help us help the 'Country Community' by joining them today.

AUGUST 2005: With Aug rolling in, the branding already complete and nothing too much happening we got busy.
The Thomas Ranch created the new Meet A Real Cowboy page.
The Thomas Ranch came together with several Organizations such as:
American Cowboy Traders the purpose of ACT is to promote and preserve our Western Heritage
The Thomas Ranch from the beginning has promoted the National Cowboy Day. But now the National Day of the Cowboy has emerged and we are supporting them, as well.
The Thomas Ranch joined forces with CowboyCrew.Com CCC who is trying to promote the western community to come together as a whole and support country pride. Their slogan is "Welcome to the Country Club!" Help us help the 'Country Community' by joining them today.

JULY 2005: It’s Official! President George W. Bush signs a resolution declaring National Day of the American Cowboy. Well America we did it. Thank you to all of you that have followed The Thomas Ranch and all of the others who have supported this great event. Now look forward to seeing us at the First Annual Cowboy Day Celebration.
Ronnie’s B-day came this month and we celebrated in Michigan at the Thayer Family Cottage. Many guests showed up and we all had a blast. Look for his updated Birthday page. Happy B-day Ronnie.
Also The Thomas Ranch Cowboy Page was such a hit we made a new page:
The Thomas Ranch Does America Still Need the Cowboy?.
The Thomas Ranch loves fishing if you don't already know, so we created two pages just for it.
The Thomas Ranch Family Fishing Fun Page.
The Thomas Ranch Fishing Team also got a page created.
The Thomas Ranch has become the fastest growing cowboy western site on the internet.

JUNE 2005: Well folks its all done. Our "Branding" is complete. It was a long two weeks, but it is satisfying to say the least. After the "Branding" we decided to invade Bisbee. First we took a tour of the Copper Queen Mine Tour. We contacted Roger and Ronnie McGinnis (they are twins) and got a tour signed up. You can walk in and get on a tour hourly if you would like. Just let them know that "The Thomas Ranch" sent you. You will get special attention. Anyway Ronnie and Roger took care of us and the tour was excellent. We then left the tour and went to lunch (of all the places to choose from, we choose the best) we went to the Turquoise Valley Golf & RV Park, our Local Golf Course. Talk about a great lunch. They had a mixture of Mexican food to a giant club sandwich. When the Thomas Ranch invades a place it takes a lot to seat us and feed us. We took up two large tables and we were walking around talking to our friends.
Good Job to both the Copper Queen Mine and to the Turquoise Valley Golf Course.

MAY 2005: Well folks here it is. Summer break is here. All the kids are out of school and it is time to finish up all of our branding.
The Thomas Ranch Family Fishing Fun page has been updated. We added a section on how to begin fishing. We hope that everyone will take time to take a child fishing. We have added 2 new websites to our list of sponsored sites.
Take me Fishing.org, who is promoting Fishing for Children.
Future Fisherman Foundation, they are promoting: Hooked On Fishing - Not On Drugs®

We hope everyone will have a safe and fun summer enjoy the spoils while you can.

APRIL 2005: With April here it gives us a moment to catch our breath and to wonder about the past and the future. In the past did our forefathers have it as tough as we have today? I know you are all asking as tough as we do today? They did not have electricity (the day would end when it got dark), running water (or even a well when they first arrived), they had to ride horses to town (and would be gone all day and night long), they had no cell phones (or phones of any type at the time), and they did not have neighbors next door.
It looks as if there is an upside to all of this as well as a down side. It would be nice to not have any of these modern wonders and to have a much simpler life. But with what we have today we are happy! When our grand children take over the Thomas Ranch we cannot even imagine the wonders they may have or the problems they may be faced with. But we can wish them all the luck and hope for the best for all of them.

MARCH 2005: In March "The Thomas Ranch" would like to extend its support for the upcoming Cowboy for Kids Rodeo, which is promoting a Rodeo fundraiser April 2nd, Good Luck to everyone that will be participating in this event.
We would also like to welcome summer back. Goodbye to the Winter Season. The Spring Rain was good to us. Our wells are full again and we are looking good for 2005.
March brought in Easter and the ham dinner was great.

FEBRUARY 2005: In February the Thomas Ranch has joined forces with several different organizations.
Cowboy for Kids, which is promoting a Rodeo fundraiser in April,
Family Friendly Sites, to promote safe Internet surfing.

January 2005: The New Year is upon us. With the New Year the Thomas Ranch wants to wish all of you a happy NEW YEAR. The Adopt A Cow has been getting a lot of response. We are sorry to say our computer crashed that had the tracking of all of our cattle and we are in the process of re-adding it all together again. So for now with the Adopt A Cow you will not get the family history on your Cow. But don't let that stop you from Adopting today.. The Thomas Ranch has also joined forces with American Cowboy.com to try and get a National Cowboy Day.
Please take time to Vote today.
